Star-Printed Gauges / Star Orbs

Though they look like glass orbs, DaeHyun's Star Orbs are actually very malleable and easy to form into different shapes. The spells DaeHyun casts will change their form into various weapons. At his current level, DaeHyun is unable to use more than one weapon form at a time, and will deplete his energy very quickly if it is attempted. When Idle, DaeHyun's orbs simply follow him when walking or spin in a circle around him when still.

SPELL 1:: Mercury's Blade -- Daehyun casts this spell to transform his star orbs into a pair of shortswords. Fast and great for landing consecutive hits, but leaves him open for attack, since he is without shield.

SPELL 2:: Jupiter's Reach -- A spell that transforms DaeHyun's star orbs into a bow and quiver of arrows. Great for long range attacks, but takes time to refill once out of ammo.

Quiet, generous and cheerful, DaeHyun is a young man that doesn’t mind helping others. He’s quite selfless, and works his hardest on most any task he’s given. Though, he tends to not know how to say no, making him a bit of a pushover, easy to manipulate, and very lacking in regular sleep patterns. The guy would prefer to give the shirt off his back to someone with no clothes, even if his shirt is the only possession he has left. DaeHyun’s often very tired, and can fall asleep in even the most uncomfortable of places. He’s very unused to recieving help, and will often reject it, not out of pride, but from a lack of want to burden others.

With a new burst of energy from his mage form, DaeHyun is more outwardly cheerful and childish as a mage. Always eager to help those in need, and even more eager to make sure that justice is served. Though, this makes him much more gullible than he is in his human form.

DaeHyun was born into a low-class, low income Korean family in America. He'd lived in a small subdivision in Manhattan, his family often having to move house often due to severe overcrowding, denied opportunities, and insufficient funds. His family was poor, and he'd worked at an early age, unable to keep himself in school over keeping a roof over his and his parents heads. And then, in 1941, shortly before the start of World War II, there had been an attack on a Hawaii naval base by Japanese armed forces, an infamous event known to the world by the base's name. Pearl Harbor. This had, of course, caused severe unrest in the American people, discrimination and violence against Asian-Americans having skyrocketed with it. DaeHyun was one of the unlucky ones.
It had been a night so beautiful out when DaeHyun had gone out for a walk and was assaulted by several thugs who had not exactly been the friendliest, or most accepting of Asian-Americans. They'd beat the poor boy to death. He'd not known what had happened next, but he spent a lot of time in the cold. A lot of time.
Was he dead? Did he go to heaven? Or...or was he in hell? He didn't know, but, he'd been able to think. Think about how he'd died, how others probably had died the same way, about all of the bad things that happened during the wars, the bloodshed, the fighting. He wanted to stop that. He didn't want it. Why couldn't everyone just help each other? The world would have been a much better place, if that were to happen. And then he'd heard a voice.

The voice asked him if he'd really wanted to make the world better. If he'd truly felt that it would be the right path to take. His job wasn't done, the voice told him. He was needed somewhere, the voice told him. Where had the voice needed him? He'd wanted to help...it would have been lovely if he could help! DaeHyun had asked the voice if it could take him to this place he needed help. The voice hadn't answered, but instead, DaeHyun had felt something warm, a light chase away the cold, and it had enveloped him, bringing him up and away from the dark, toward a new beginning.
